 Next CCDW Classes are held on May 24th @ Knob Creek Range  and May 25th @ Catfish Heaven. Classes will start at 9:00 AM. Please contact Chris for availability in the classroom. The items you need to bring to a CCDW class are as follows:

 

(Kentuckiana Firearms Training will have everything you need to purchase if you do not have these items)

  • Your Handgun (Handgun Rentals )
  • A Box of Ammo (20 Rounds or more)
  • A Cleaning kit
  • Eye Protection and Hearing Protection
  • A Holster
  • Cost of Class is $75.00 Cash, Check or Credit Cards, PLUS ANY OTHER FEES*

 

 

 

Class Performance Objectives For The License Applicant Course are as Follows:

  • The student will be able to explain the requirements for obtaining a concealed deadly weapon license in Kentucky.
  • The Student will be able to explain the laws relating to firearms included in KRS chapters 237 and 527.
  • The student will be able to explain when the use of force is justifiable under KRS Chapter 503.
  • The student will be able to explain possible legal liability for the misuse of force.
  • The student will identify the basics principles of marksmanship.
  • The student will identify the concepts essential to the safe use of handguns.
  • The student will identify the basic nomenclature of a pistol and revolver.
  • The student will DEMONSTRATE THE ABILITY TO FIRE HIS OR HER HANDGUN ACCURATELY, ON A PRESCRIBED COURSE OF FIRE, USING SAFE WEAPON HANDLING SKILLS.
  • The student will demonstrate the ability to clean and inspect handgun ammunition.
  • The student will achieve a MINIMUM score of 70% in order to pass the written examination.

 

   

 

Live Fire Exercise

  • 11/20 Required To Pass 
  • Distance 7 yds.
  • Scoring: Any round, which hits the silhouette portion of the target, counts as a hit. Cutting the line count as a hit. 11 out of 20 hits are required. (REQUIRED TO SHOOT 20 ROUNDS)

 

The instructor may conduct as many practice rounds as neccessary, until he or she feels comfortable with the student's skill level and ability to pass. One retest is permitted.

  Most Conceal Carry classes are held at Knob Creek Gun Range in West Point Kentucky. Since they sell all types of handguns, ammunition and accesories you will always have what you need to shoot or take Chris's classes.The facility there is open year around for your shooting enjoyment. Also to instruct there is great due to the facility having heat and air conditioned classroom to teach in. Also they have refreshments and snacks as well.  They have a large facility over 600 acres which include several outdoor ranges from which you may shoot including thier 350 yd. main range. A combat pistol shooting range & one additional 100 yd. private range and much more to offer. The management and staff there is friendly and they have a great atmosphere and surrounding for any shooter. 

 

*Chris does have other CCDW classes at other locations and in other counties to accomodate large groups not capable to make the ones in town.
