Let me tell you about a hidden secret here in town! I found this place little over a year go. Best fishing in town, and the World Record Catfish was caught here! 70lbs. On 6lb test line! What a catch, the fish is in their bait house for proof!

Fun for the family year round and the family owned place has a great atmosphere and down home cooking. I do not like eating catfish at all until someone switched my white fish for catfish. I told them that this was the best fish I have ever eaten and they all started to laugh! It was not white fish but catfish. I do not know what or how they do it, but it’s right down tasty, and they won’t tell the family secret either!

I had the pleasure of taking my family down there with my in-laws. Not one person likes catfish, but until they tried the sample fish nuggets, the orders started to change. Looking for something close to home and good cooking? Look no further, you have it all right here in your back yard.

  

Not only do they have great fishing, but they also have karaoke nights as well, and the Louisville Poker Tour on Sunday’s for FREE! Bring the whole family down and try to sing to the crowd, if your lucky, you might even catch me down there trying to sing . So remember bring your ear plugs just in case. The owners tell me that "Catfish Haven has been around for about fifty years or so, but we didn't get acquainted with it until about twelve years ago. Didn't do much with it for a while, but now we have a pay fishing lake and a restaurant that serves the best catfish in town. Of course, that isn't the only thing to order if you come into the restaurant, but it really is good!"

"We are proud of our lake, and hope you enjoy your experience while fishing here. We stock six days a week, and usually three times on Saturday, depending on the crowd. There is no limit on the amount of fish you can catch." The owners are right about this!!!
We also have a 'kids pond' that is open at specified times for the children under twelve, and for the women that really don't know how to fish. This 'pond' is stocked heavy, so it's like fishing in your bath tub. Each person is limited to three fish from there.

Catfish Haven Lake and Restaurant is the best catfish paylake around, and serves the worlds best catfish in the restaurant! Located in the Louisville, Kentucky Metropolitan area, it isn't a long drive to get there, but gives you a 'country' atmosphere while you are fishing...or eating! There is a variety of wild and domestic birds around, as you can see in our "Eagles' and 'Other Birds' section. There are Eagles (when the lake isn't busy), ducks, robins, sparrows, wrens, and who knows what else? There are also woodpeckers, cardinals, blue jays and a blue heron, but they haven't been caught with a camera yet.
